1. - Which are the host hotels?

2. - I am a foreigner, to whom I can contact to participate?

3. - I am a foreigner, how can I transport my car or can I rent one in Mexico?

In addition to the package being offered with the inscription, we can provide the following services for european crews. This will be quoted for each interested crew according to their specific needs:

 

1.Sea transport for the car via EU – MEX - EU

2.Temporary import permit issued by the Mexican Motor Sports Federation (FMAD).

3.Customs clearance of the car in Mexico and back in EU.

4.Additional hotel nights.  

5.Sports licensing issued by the FMAD.

4. - Do I need special documentation to participate?

Since this is a rally type competition, the crew consists exclusively by a pilot and copilot. Both must have drivers license, sports license of the Mexican Motor Sports Federation (FMAD), and full coverage insurance.

 

5. - Where can I get my motor sports licence?

For crews in Mexico, the format of the license application can be found in:  www.femadac.org.mx  or apply at the offices of the FMAD, located at:

Required documentation: head shot pictures, copy of driver license (both pilot and copilot), fill out the form requesting the license type “D”.

The license fee this year is $1700 pesos but expires annually; for 2012 could increase approximately $200 pesos. This license includes major medical insurance.

 

6. - In case of mechanical failure or car accident, the organization supports me?

The organization has the support of a unit “Ángeles Verdes” (Green Angels), a corporation that provides counseling, support and touristic assistance throughout the race, and also a flat-bed truck that follows the race cars the entire route to help any competitor in case of mechanical failure or accident. If you require transfer of the vehicle, the commitment is to bring the car to the nearest town in which mechanical services or assistance are provided.

 

7. - How do I race a rally tour?

In our website www.carreradelgolfoalpacifico.com.mx  in the “Info” menu, there is a downloadable manual explaining how to race a time-speed-distance rally.

 

If desired, prior to the event start (Wednesday), after mechanical and safety check, for people who request it, a brief explanation may be given by the organizing committee of how to read the road book and how to pass the different controls located in the road.

 

8. - I have home in Veracruz / Cuernavaca / Acapulco, is there a discount by not using the hotel services in one of the tourist destinations?

9. - Can I pay with a credit card?

By the moment we don’t accept foreign credit cards.

 

10. - Can a passenger come in the back seat of the car while we are racing?

No, a crew for competitions such as rally is only a pilot and a copilot.

 

11. - My family will attend the awards in Elcano, can I get more tickets and another room?

Yes, the organizing committee has additional rooms available in host hotels or hotels of other categories and also tickets for accompanying persons in this and other planned activities. Please consult the full package costs or by activity: Lodging, breakfast, lunch on the route, dinner in Cuernavaca, awards dinner.

12. - Is there a discount for encourage more crews to register at the race?

Yes, there is a discount of $2000 mexican pesos for every extra crew. IE: if you encourage two crews, the discount is $4000 pesos, if it’s three crews, the discount is $6000 pesos, and so on.

The condition is that the encouraged crew has never competed in the race or has ceased to participate in at least the last edition.

 

13.- Can I ask for an invoice?

Yes, when you require invoice you must pay 16% of VAT.
